Core Process Psychotherapy
Core Process Psychotherapy involves working at depth and allows space for your thoughts, emotions and feelings to emerge and receive attention. This modality encourages awareness of bodily sensations which can hold wisdom about what is happening for us. Encouraging mindfulness, which is simply being in the present moment, may help feelings of stuck-ness. Old patterns and ways of relating to ourselves and others which were once useful may no longer serve us now, and can be changed.
I am a senior student of the Karuna Institute Post-Graduate Diploma in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy. This is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy trainings which integrates ancient and current contemplative understandings with modern psychotherapeutic theories. Clients are encouraged to enquire at depth into the nature of their own suffering, explore the processes of their conditioning and to locate their own wisdom and truth.
I hold trainee membership with the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP). I have worked within the public, private and charity sectors. I hold a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Diploma in Relational Mindfulness. In recent years I was employed by Victim Support and volunteered with the mental health charity Mind. I am experienced in working with victims of crime.
